Life Tools Tutoring offers a 2-day intensive class that includes the following elements:

  • One day of general test overview and test-taking strategies as well as a full-length practice exam with scoring
  • One day of focused instruction in all four subject areas and review of problems and concepts from the practice materials
ScienceInstruction is provided on test structure, tips and strategies for evaluating graphs and tables, and interpreting data.  Discussion of scientific investigation and conflicting viewpoints in passages is examined.
ReadingInstruction is provided on test structure, tips and strategies for evaluating four reading passages, and discussion on various types of questions.
MathematicsInstruction is provided on test structure and specific examples are modeled covering Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Functions, and Trigonometry. The review session is tailored to the needs of the individual participants. A calculator is required for this section. 
EnglishInstruction is provided on test structure, tips and strategies for taking the English Test, and specific focus on the conventions of standard English grammar.
WritingThe optional writing section will not be included in this course.

About the Instructor: Mike Voet has been tutoring students and young adults for over 25 years, specializing in reading, writing, and math. Mike has been providing ACT test-prep tutoring for over 10 years. His combination of intelligence and humor allows students to increase in knowledge and confidence.
